Logitech G700 wireless gaming mouse – Cables? Who needs cables?

Back in the day and that is indeed a recurring theme with me indeed, the choices between which gaming mouse or gaming keyboard to get, were rather limited. You had your small list of manufacturers, but all in all the market was pretty slim, however Logitech was in my view always on the top. Here they are years later throwing the Logitech G700 wireless gaming mouse into the contest!

The G700 is obviously part of the G-Series from Logitech which focuses on hardcore gaming with a huge array of devices landing in this area. We had the Logitech G400 gaming mouse, the G500 gaming mouse, the Logitech G510 gaming keyboard, the G300 upcoming gaming mouse, the G9x gaming mouse, the G19 and the G15 gaming keyboards.

With such a portfolio (and I just mentioned a small portion of what they’ve done in the sector) the G700 has quite a lot to live up to. So how does the Logitech G700 wireless gaming mouse come to our humble doorsteps?

Overview

The first thing which draws your attention as a hardcore gamer is the wireless factor. I’ve met a lot of professional gamers in my lifetime and most of them still prefer to have a cable running from their mouse to the PC since that’s a pretty good sign that you won’t have issues with dropped movements. That’s why the Logitech G700 wireless gaming mouse comes with a data cable for those critical moments.

The Logitech G700 Wireless Gaming Mouse looks simply amazing!

The shape of the Logitech G700 is specially design for your right hand, with every button being nicely positioned for your reach. Each of the macro buttons has a different shape, so you’ll get the chance to quickly adjust to the way the macro buttons are placed. This is also to help prevent the accidental press of any of buttons while at the same time keep your eyes on the screen.

The battery inside the G700 gaming mouse is good for quite a lot of hours of intense gaming thanks to its 2000mAh rating. Thanks to the quick connect cable you can plug in and recharge the device while gaming in order to make sure that you won’t see a drop in the action because of that.

You might wonder how the Logitech G700 wireless gaming mouse handles a couple of hours of gaming on the battery since the device is powered by a 5700dpi gaming-grade laser. To give you some perspective of what Logitech calls a gaming-grade laser, here’s a short description of the tech specs of this beast.

The tracking can be set from a resolution of 200 to 5700dpi, the laser being able to process 12 megapixels each second. Thanks to the laser, the Logitech G700 manages to go up to 30G in terms of acceleration. The speed can also top out at 165 inches/s (that’s 4.19m/s). At this speed the pointer literally flies of the display.

Logitech’s G700 also comes with 13 programmable controls with macro recording capabilities, the device being able to hold up to 300 events (that’s 150 keystrokes) within a single macro. You can set such elements as delay, single or multiple keystrokes or even mouse actions. If that isn’t enough you can combine mouse actions as well as keystrokes, all within the same macro!

Logitech G700 Wireless Gaming Mouse

There are plenty of functions for everyone on the Logitech G700 Wireless Gaming Mouse

The onboard memory allows you to keep your settings on your device irrespective of your location. Like any gaming level mouse, the G700 has on-the-fly sensitivity switching, a small LED display to warn you in regards to battery life and something which I enjoyed on the Logitech G9x and the G500, the dual-mode scroll wheel.

Pricing

The Logitech G700 wireless gaming mouse can be purchased from Logitech for $99.99 if you are a resident of the US while if you are on the old continent, you will have to come up with 99.99 Euros for the G700 while those in the UK will be paying 89.99 GBP. It might seem like a pretty steep price, yet you must keep in mind that the number of functions and the performance it brings with itself is well worth the money.

Amazon lists the Logitech G700 wireless gaming mouse for $74, so if you want to save up a couple of bucks, this is the right place, yet even with the higher price on Logitech’s web-page I still feel that the price they are asking for it is well worth it.

Final thoughts

Considering the long history of Logitech peripherals, the G700 wireless gaming mouse is well in line with the company’s tradition of bringing high quality, high precision and durable products. Starting from the features and all the way to the performance required in modern day gaming, the G700 has something for everyone out there. Get your hands on one, take it to the office and start copy pasting those documents – with your mouse! Stay tuned for more!
